Beocenter 7002 emerged as one of the most advanced hi-fi music centers on the market. With just one touch, you could instantly enjoy music from records, cassette tapes, or AM/FM radio stations.
Moreover, the illuminated symbols on the communication panel provided clear feedback, confirming your commands or indicating errors. As a result, you remained informed of the system’s operational status at all times. In summary, the Beocenter 7002 offered two-way communication in high fidelity.
The cordless remote control module empowered you to command all functions from your preferred listening position. For instance, selecting any program not only activated the system but also allowed you to regulate the volume, delivering 2 x 40 watts RMS. Additionally, you could make cassette recordings or switch off the set—all without leaving your chair.
Comprehensive memory and timer facilities enabled you to program the microcomputer to perform any function at a specified time within a 24-hour period. This feature allowed the Beocenter to record important radio programs while you were away or even wake you up with an early morning broadcast.
Each of the Beocenter 7002’s three sound sources delivered high quality and performance typically found only in much more expensive separate units. The record deck featured an Electronic Servo Drive for precise speed accuracy and operated fully automatically. Consequently, you could control stop, start, or pause functions via the remote.
The cassette recorder was equipped with a Sendust record/replay head and a double-gap erase head, capable of handling metal tapes. You could easily locate any point on the tape by asking the microcomputer to search for the desired counter reading. Moreover, the radio allowed you to pre-set five FM and one AM station, enabling instant selection at the touch of a button.
The Beocenter 7002 provided the same musical capabilities and powerful 2 x 40 watts RMS output as the Beocenter 5000. While both models shared exceptional sound quality, the Beocenter 7002 uniquely featured Bang & Olufsen’s advanced timer-track location and remote control systems. Additionally, its black anodized lid on the cassette compartment set it apart from the Beocenter 5000.
