Beocenter 2300 DAB

Danish Radio produced a special version of the Beocenter 2300 DAB model in a limited run of 500 units for DAB testing.

Built on Bang & Olufsen’s Beocenter 2300 platform, engineers modified the 2300 DAB with a Motorola Power PC 821 processor to manage its specialized DAB functions. They housed the DAB receiver in a “black box” crafted by Bosch/Blaupunkt.

Users can operate the radio directly through the push buttons or with a remote control unit, which features a modified Apple Newton NotePad.

Another key feature of the 2300 DAB is the PCMCIA (PC Card) slot located on the top left-hand side of the back casing, distinguishing it from the standard 2300 model.

Mounting Options

This iconic design evolved over 21 years, offering various mounting solutions. Users can choose between floor stands with pole designs or CD and tape storage options. Additionally, wall mount solutions accommodate Hi-Fi use or BeoLab 2500 speakers until their discontinuation.
