BeoLab 4 offers a compact and flexible loudspeaker design that delivers exceptional sound at an attractive price. Initially designed for use with the BeoSound 4 music system, you can also pair BeoLab 4 with PCs or integrate it into other Bang & Olufsen setups. With a wide range of placement options, it adapts effortlessly to various spaces and needs. According to Bang & Olufsen’s Financial Report (August 2005), they planned for BeoLab 4’s release in the second quarter of 2005, making it one of the company’s most versatile offerings.
BeoLab 4 debuted in November 2005 as a new entry-level loudspeaker. Its discreet design hides impressive sound performance, which makes it ideal not only as stereo speakers but also as front or rear speakers in a surround sound system. Furthermore, it can be used as link room speakers. It features a 2-way stereo configuration with a 2cm tweeter and a 10cm bass driver, each powered by a 30W ICEpower amplifier. To ensure optimal bass performance, you can easily adjust BeoLab 4’s placement switch, which adapts the bass depending on its position in the room—whether wall-mounted, placed in a corner, or free-standing.
Additionally, BeoLab 4 incorporates Adaptive Bass Linearization (ABL), a proprietary Bang & Olufsen technology that delivers superior bass performance despite its compact design. This technology ensures deep, full bass without compromising clarity in any room.
Moreover, BeoLab 4 features a 3.5mm mini-jack line input and a dedicated PC mode, making it a great solution for non-B&O devices such as PCs or portable MP3 players. For seamless connection, you can use additional adaptors, such as:
• 6270273 2-piece set: 3.5mm mono mini plug to RCA M (for non-B&O systems)
• 6270250: 3.5mm stereo mini plug to 2 x 3.5mm mono mini plugs (for PC connections)
BeoLab 4 offers a variety of placement options. You can easily place it on its built-in foot on a bookshelf or table. Moreover, you can mount it on the wall or ceiling using optional brackets, or install it on a dedicated floor stand. This flexibility ensures it fits seamlessly into any space, whether a living room, bedroom, or office.
BeoLab 4 comes with fabric covers in four colors: Black, Dark Grey, Red, and Blue. Thanks to its snap-on system, you can quickly switch covers to match your décor.
Superb Hi-Fi Sound in a Pyramid-Shaped Design
Despite its small size, BeoLab provides true high-fidelity sound. The pyramid-shaped design houses an integrated ICEpower amplifier, delivering high power output and efficient operation. Furthermore, Adaptive Bass Linearization and circuit protection technology ensure BeoLab 4 delivers outstanding sound without overheating, guaranteeing long-lasting performance.
Not only does BeoLab pair perfectly with the BeoSound audio system, but it also blends expressive design with advanced technology. Its compact dimensions make it ideal as rear speakers for home theater setups or premium PC speakers. Moreover, BeoLab integrates effortlessly with the BeoLink system, ensuring consistent, high-quality sound across your entire home.
Flexible Sound Placement for BeoLab
Additionally, BeoLab includes three bass presets, adjusting automatically based on its placement: against a wall, in a corner, or free-standing. Whether mounted on the wall, placed on a floor stand, or positioned on a table, BeoLab 4 guarantees excellent performance in any setup.
Various Mounting and Stand Options for BeoLab Speakers
Although BeoLab is primarily designed as a table speaker, it also supports wall and ceiling mounting and floor stands. This versatility allows you to place the speaker in any configuration that best suits your space. Initially, the design did not allow for internal cable routing, so Bang & Olufsen provided a silver sock, which was later phased out due to customer feedback.
