The BeoLab 4500 was a slim, wall-mounted speaker, measuring just 8 cm deep. Equipped with an active amplifier, it provided enhanced bass reproduction. Furthermore, the wall served as a natural reflector, improving sound quality. In addition, the built-in display showed the active source and track information, offering added convenience.
Two Versions of BeoLab 4500: Passive vs Active Loudspeakers
There were two versions of this speaker. The Beovox 4500 was a passive panel loudspeaker, whereas the BeoLab 4500 featured a built-in amplifier and Dynamic Bass Equalizer. This equalizer, in particular, automatically adjusted bass reproduction, ensuring better sound at low volumes.
BeoLab 4500’s Acoustic Design for Enhanced Bass Performance
The design of both models relied on an acoustic principle that enhanced bass. By reflecting sound waves off the wall, they produced a fuller bass response. As a result, the speaker’s 8 cm depth allowed it to seamlessly blend into the room’s décor.
BeoLab 4500 Display: Convenient Sound Source & Track Information
The BeoLab 4500 display conveniently showed the source, volume, and track number. Similar to the BeoLab 5000, it was smaller in size. However, the display was green, unlike the orange one found on the BeoLab 5000. Both versions, meanwhile, were available with blue or grey fabric covers.
Mounting Solutions: Flexible Placement Options
Bang & Olufsen worked with STBbrackets, a preferred supplier, to offer custom mounting solutions. These options, distributed through Bang & Olufsen stores worldwide, provide flexible placement for the speaker in various environments.
