BeoLab 8002: A Refined Upgrade of the Iconic BeoLab 8000

The BeoLab 8002 marks a sophisticated update to the long-running BeoLab 8000, preserving its iconic design while offering key enhancements. Although Bang & Olufsen emphasized that the sound quality remained unchanged, the BeoLab 8002 serves more as a rationalization of the range than a complete overhaul. Specifically, it introduces new drive units powered by a pair of ICE amplifiers, each rated at 125W, which enhance both efficiency and power handling.

Design Refresh and Functional Upgrades with Beolab 8002

Additionally, the mode LED has been repositioned, giving the speaker a subtle refresh without compromising its classic aesthetic. Furthermore, a new three-way switch for room positioning replaces the previously included phono socket. As with its predecessor, the BeoLab 8002 retains a single PowerLink socket, ensuring compatibility with various Bang & Olufsen products. As a result, the speaker is even more versatile, adapting to different listening environments.

Enhanced Sound and Performance for Beolab 8002

While design changes are notable, the BeoLab significantly enhances audio performance. The upgraded bass response delivers deeper lows, while the high frequencies are more detailed and refined. Consequently, the overall sound is richer, fuller, and more immersive, offering noticeable improvements in clarity and depth when compared to the previous model.

Sleek, Timeless Design with Modern Versatility

In addition to its performance upgrades, the BeoLab continues to impress with its iconic inverted pencil-shape design. Now housed in a sleek black aluminium case, it is available with the option of black or white frets, making it adaptable to a wide range of settings. Moreover, these active speakers provide plug-and-play connectivity with virtually any device—be it an iPhone, CD player, or TV. With built-in amplification, there’s no need for an external amp. Simply plug it in, and enjoy premium audio right out of the box.
