The cartridge was equipped with a naked contact line diamond, a refined version of the Pramanik diamond used in the MMC 6000. Its distinctive profile made it an ideal choice for quadraphonic reproduction and positioned it as a worthy replacement for the MMC 6000 when that was needed.
